Bob Souza is a San Francisco Bay Area native and was born and raised in San Jose, California. He graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1984. After that, he was a missile development mechanic at Lockheed Missiles & Space for 10 years. Later, Bob completed Police Academy training, aspiring to join the California Highway Patrol. Due to the CHP hiring freeze, he left Lockheed to become an entrepreneur instead. Bob opened up a window tinting business and an auto detail shop in his hometown of San Jose. This is where he met Leilani in 1995 and married her two years later.

Sausalito, California (1997)

Bob’s next career choice was a commercial pipefitter with the UA Local Union 393. He found work in the high-tech industry for Therma, Inc. and Icom Mechanical, Inc. in Silicon Valley. With his goals set higher than what the pipe trades had to offer, Bob decided that this was not a long term career.

So in 1999, Bob entered the mortgage industry as a loan consultant with Full Spectrum Lending. After gaining valuable experience in sub-prime lending, he became a full-service mortgage broker. With Leilani by his side, they both worked hard helping others buy and sell real estate. A few years later, they discovered that they could work smarter by investing in real estate.

Bob and Leilani were active competing in the rare breed dog show circuit in the early to mid 2000’s. They enjoyed trips in a motorhome with their four legged family, traveling to dog shows all over the USA. Romeo was the #1 Cane Corso in 2004 and also the 2004 National Specialty Best Male (with 63 champions in the show ring!) Cyrano began his career at 12 weeks old, winning “Best In Show Puppy” in Newport Beach, CA!

Bob has always been a gearhead, growing up racing go carts, micro midgets and then sprint cars. He even took Leilani on a motorcycle ride for their first date to the Gilroy Garlic Festival. They still enjoy riding on two wheels and love that there are so many worthwhile places to explore in the area!
